Recently, SARANI had the privilege of organizing an impactful awareness program on breast and cervical cancer at Kheyadah Gram Panchayat. The event was a collaborative effort with the Rotary Club of South Kolkata and Saroj Gupta Cancer Hospital, aimed at educating and empowering the community—especially women—about two of the most pressing health concerns affecting millions across India.

A Program with Purpose
The session focused on awareness, prevention, and early detection, because timely information and regular screenings can save countless lives. Breast and cervical cancers are among the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in India, and awareness is the first step toward change.
Doctors Sharing Knowledge
The experienced doctors from Saroj Gupta Cancer Hospital shared detailed information on:
Symptoms and warning signs to look out for
Importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment
Methods of self-examination and routine screenings
Preventive lifestyle practices
Their sessions were interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and clarify doubts, ensuring that the knowledge was practical and community-friendly.

Reaching the Grassroots
The program specifically engaged local women and ASHA health workers, empowering them to spread the message further in their communities. By equipping frontline health workers with knowledge, the awareness multiplies—ensuring more households get the right information.
Community & Leadership Support
We were honored by the presence of Smt. Firdousi Begum, MLA of the area, whose encouragement and support added great value to the initiative. Her participation highlighted the importance of community and political leadership in addressing health concerns.

Why This Matters
Awareness programs like this are more than just events—they are life-saving interventions. Early detection of breast and cervical cancer can make treatment far more effective and affordable, and most importantly, give women a better chance at survival.
Our Commitment
At SARANI, we believe that empowering communities with knowledge is the first step toward a healthier society. This program is one of many initiatives we aim to conduct in the future, with the goal of reaching more villages, more families, and saving more lives.
✅ Closing Note:Together with our partners—the Rotary Club of South Kolkata and Saroj Gupta Cancer Hospital—we reaffirm our commitment to building a healthier tomorrow, one awareness session at a time.
